Here’s one issue I have with the Google Chrome app on my Mac.
When you launch the program, it’ll check your ~/Library folder for the existence of the Google folder.
If it doesn’t find one, it’ll create it, plus a few sub-folders such as GoogleSoftwareUpdate.

Go ahead and try to delete the Google folder. When you relaunch Chrome, it’ll rebuild the folder.
The issue I have is this. If you have Little Snitch installed and setup to detect network connection requests, you’ll notice GoogleSoftwareUpdateAgent waking up every now and then to try and download some updates without ever notifying you or asking for your permission.

I wish Google would at least pop-up a confirmation dialog or have a “Check Updates” setting in the preferences – this would give me some measure of control over when and how I want the update checks to be performed. In a future version, perhaps?
