The following is an extract from a question and answer session on gdgt.com, where “sahaskatta” requested for impressions comparing the iPhone 4 and HTC EVO smart phones. “dave” a gdgt.com staff, replied with a brief comparison.
“sahaskatta”:
After attending Google I/O and leaving with an EVO which will be getting Froyo, I just thought that device and OS were cutting edge / revolutionary / game changing. I don’t feel that way about iOS 4 and iPhone 4. I’m sure EVO sales will be a tiny spec after this hits stores, but what are your thoughts? Am I missing anything?
“dave”:
We had an EVO with us yesterday. The screen on the iPhone 4 is much sharper and brighter than the screen on the EVO. Plus, iOS 4 is just so well optimized that there’s no lag when switching between home screens and such. The EVO felt like it was sluggish in comparison.
Both phones have many things going for them though and I’d consider each to be more evolutionary than revolutionary, with regard to their respective platforms.
